MESIT Modernises Electronics Production, New SMT Production Area Brings Higher Automation and Efficiency
MESIT (MEMBER OF OMNIPOL GROUP) has completed the modernisation of SMT production for the assembly of printed circuit boards. The new workshop brings a higher degree of automation, faster throughput, and significant space savings, and supports further development of electronic manufacturing for demanding industrial applications.
The introduction of new technologies is reflected in specific and measurable results. The preparation time for production and the actual mounting of printed circuit boards has been shortened, and at the same time, warehouse management has been significantly streamlined.
“The new SMT production area enables us to respond more quickly to customer requirements, plan production more effectively, and at the same time increase both its quality and capacity. A significant benefit is also the automation of warehouse management and the saving of space," says CEO Libor Urban.
Automated storage systems have reduced the required storage space from the original approximately 70 m² to just 4 m² after full implementation. Integrating production with the warehouse system also minimises downtime and supports smooth management of material flows.
Approximately 8 million SMD components are mounted annually at MESIT on more than 60,000 printed circuit boards. Some of them contain up to 300 types of components and more than 1,300 individual parts, which places high demands on accuracy, production organisation and quality control.
Modern electronics manufacturing
The SMT department was created by reconstructing the ground floor premises, which were modified to meet the requirements of electronic production, including a dust-free and ESD-protected environment.
The department currently employs 10 workers, with plans to introduce a second shift and further expand the team in the future. Employees appreciate not only the new technological equipment, but also the increased comfort of the working environment and the modern facilities for relaxation during work breaks.
Flexibility for demanding projects
MESIT has long focused on the production of small and medium-sized series, where flexibility and the ability to respond quickly to specific customer requirements are key. New capacities further strengthen this approach and make it possible to efficiently handle even complex production assignments. Typical products include, for example, aircraft instruments, radio systems, intercoms or headsets.
The investment in the new SMT production area is another step in the long-term development of MESIT's technological capacities. This strengthens the company's ability to manufacture highly reliable electronics for applications where precision, quality and durability are key – especially in the defence, aerospace and transport industries.
