Outstanding reliability, easy use, possibility of parameter change through a configuration application, allowing easy integration with radios and headsets.

Clear communication is essential for success in any combat mission. The digital intercom system provides reliable communication in dangerous conditions with high levels of noise.

It is designed for installation in tracked as well as wheeled military and police vehicles. The intercom system consists of units allowing the connection of vehicle radios of various types and from various manufacturers as well as other system units, headsets, loudspeakers, PA systems, field telephone, etc.

Basic parameters:

  • Up to 26 crew members
  • Up to 6 vehicle radios
  • Easy installation and use
  • Supports ANR headsets
  • Digital speech processing
  • Highly intelligible communication in noisy environments
  • Wireless communication with ground troops
  • Automatic retransmission between radios
  • Processing of signals from battle management systems (BMS)
  • Built-In-Test
  • Software defined parameters and configurations
  • Expansion potential

The system is fully programmable via a configuration application.

The core of the intercom system

The core of the intercom system

The core of the intercom system is the VICM 201 Central Communication Unit (CCU). Other units of the system (BCU, ADI, REU, WSCU) are connected to the CCU in a star topology.

The Central Communication Unit (VICM 201) provides two full access points for headsets with access to the internal connection as well as vehicle radios. The unit enables individual volume control of connected users and selection of the working and monitoring channel. It provides continuous monitoring of the entire communication system known as Built-In-Test.

The unit itself functions as an intercom for two users and two radios. This solution is suitable for small-crew vehicles.

Main Units of the Intercom System

Basic Communication Unit

Basic Communication Unit

Full-fledged connection of up to 2 headsets

The VICM 202 Basic Communication Unit (BCU) provides full-fledged connection with independent volume control of two (ANR) headsets with access to the internal connection as well as vehicle radios. It allows the selection of the working and monitoring channel. It operates connected to the CCU.

Intercom Communication Unit

Intercom Communication Unit

Connection of 3 headsets

The VICM 205 Intercom Communication Unit (ICU) allows the connection of three (ANR) headsets to the intercom system. Users connected to the ICU are provided with the monitoring of vehicle radios.

Tactical loudspeaker

Tactical loudspeaker

Durable loudspeaker for loud reproduction of internal connection signals and radios

The loudspeaker comes in two variations:

  • VICM 107 – loudspeaker with an integrated amplifier
  • VICM 207 – loudspeaker without an amplifier

Extension Units

Wireless Segment Control Unit

Wireless Segment Control Unit

Communication with ground troops

The VICM 120 Wireless Segment Control Unit (WSCU) enables communication between ground troops and the vehicle crew. It is also provided with access to all vehicle radios. VICM 200 COMBAT supports a wide range of personal radios.

Radio Extension Unit

Radio Extension Unit

Possibility of system extension

The VICM 203 Radio Extension Unit (REU) enables the extension of the system by two or four vehicle radios. It operates connected to the CCU.

Audio&Data Interface

Audio&Data Interface

For BMS signal processing

The VICM 208 Audio&Data Interface (ADI) processes signals from the BMS and generates warning messages (other functions similar to BCU). It enables full connection of up to 2 headsets with access to the internal connection to vehicle radios. The ADI can also operate independently, without a connection to the CCU.

Field Telephone Interface

Field Telephone Interface

The VICM 212 Field Telephone Interface (FTI) enables the connection of a field telephone using a two-wire line. It also enables the connection of one headset. The FTI generates a ringing signal for the field telephone and acoustic and visual signals of field phone ringing.

Basic Technical Parameters

Supply voltage 14 to 35VDC
Operating temperature range -40°C to +71°C
Storage temperature range -57°C to +71°C
Environment MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810

Accessories

Personal Communication Interface

Personal Communication Interface

Easy control of the intercom system and peripherals

The VICM 209 Personal Communication Interface (PCI) provides intelligent interconnection between headsets, the intercom system, personal radio and vehicle or tactical radio. It allows easy control of the intercom system and peripherals.
